Hi, crafty friends! Welcome to the Altenew January 2018 Release Blog Hop! It's Dana here and I'm so honored hopping along with you today. I hope you came from Nina-Marie's blog, but if not, please check the full blog hop list in the bottom of this post.
As always, Altenew released amazing products in this month. I'm especially in love with layering dies!! I have 4 cards and one video (my first cardmaking video) and let's get started!
For my first card, I started by die cutting 'LOVE' words from bristol paper using Altenew Caps Bold Alphabet Die. I then made watercolor wash on these die cuts with Worn Lipstick and Festive Berries Distress inks and water using ink smooshing technique.
While they are dried, I die cut note paper using Altenew Notebook Die. I also die cut roses from bristol paper using Altenew Rose Flurries 3D Die Set. This die set contains many layered rose and leaf dies and I love them all so much!
After die cutting, I ink blended each layers using distress inks and dye inks. For roses, I used Abandoned Coral, Worn Lipstick, Dried Marigold and Squeezed Lemonade Distress inks. On the leaves, I used dye inks from other company. Then, I glued all die cuts as shown in the picture.
I assembled all elements on the red card stock and popped them up using foam tape and glue. I then mounted this panel to the A2 sized white card base. To finish off, I tied up a ribbon using hemp cord and embellished droplets here and there.
In my second card, I featured Altenew Create A Wreath Die Set and Rose Flurries 3D Die Set. I used only Altenew Mini Blossom Die cutting Machine to make this wreath. For more details, please check out my first cardmaking video below :) If you want watch in Youtube, click HERE.
After watercoloring the background and edges in the video, I white heat embossed sentiment from Altenew Just Because stamp set on pink card stock and trimmed it down as shown. I adhered wreath using glue and some foam adhesive and foam mounted sentiment as well. Last, I mounted watercolor panel on A2 sized white card base.
Next up is Altenew Peony Dreams 3D Die Set! I'm so happy to put beautiful flower cluster on my card just after doing die cutting few times.
So, I began by die cutting all layers of peonies and leaves. I used general colored card stock for their body and glitter paper for layered parts. I especially die cut the highlight part of flowers from white glitter card stock and added colors with copic markers.
I then splattered watercolor paints with water here and there on white woodgrain card stock before foam mounting the elements as shown and adhered whole panel on A2 sized grey card base. Oh, sentiment from Altenew More Than Words is heat embossed with Altenew Rose Gold Embossing powder.
I used the lightest cover as a shaker front. For more fun look, I glued medium shade card stock behind the cover after adding the acetate. I then adhered foam tape inside the rectangle area with no extra space between each edges. I did the same process to edges of cover. In this shaker channel I just created, I put clear sequins. I then combined shaker part with another A2 sized darkest paper.
Then, I started to decorate the front. I die cut 'love' words from gold glittery paper using Altenew Script Words Die Set. I white heat embossed the sentiment from Altenew Just Because stamp set and I added gold glitters on the bottom of sentiment panel as shown in the picture.
I mounted all elements using mini pop dots and glue. I glued some darkest pieces on the center part as well. I embellished heat stickers from my stash where I wanted them and finished off this card.
I hope you enjoyed these cards. Don't miss awesome prizes from Altenew and giveaway from My bog below.

For my last card, I used one of my favorite color scheme, turquoise and gold! I die cut 3 times from 3 different blue-green shade of card stocks using Altenew Cube Cover Die.I used the lightest cover as a shaker front. For more fun look, I glued medium shade card stock behind the cover after adding the acetate. I then adhered foam tape inside the rectangle area with no extra space between each edges.
